MSMEs in Odisha seek protection against coal crisis
In a bid to mitigate the drastic effects of the coal shortage on MSMEs, the Odisha Assembly of SMEs has written to PM Modi seeking succor. Over the last seven months, the state has struggled with operations with many ancillary MSMEs pushed to the brink of closure.
Odisha, which accounts for almost 25% of the nation’s total coal deposit, seeks and needs immediate redressal for its coal shortage problem. An unprecedented closure of more than 5000 SMEs could be forthcoming unless the issue is resolved immediately.
Meesho to digitize 4Lakh sellers across the nation
In its latest campaign to digitize their sellers, Meesho positions itself as a growth enabler for MSMEs. The campaign attempts to raise awareness about how vendors may benefit from its large consumer base, pan-India logistical support, secure payments, and customer care capabilities available.
Meesho reports having assisted over 400,000 vendors digitize their business across the country. Nearly 70% of which are female entrepreneurs that hail from tier 2 and smaller cities of the nation.
